Empire Clean Cities

Empire Clean Cities (ECC) is an environmental nonprofit with a mission to ensure clean air for future generations. By working locally in New York City and the Hudson Valley, ECC provides stakeholders and citizens with reliable information about clean alternative fuels, advanced vehicle technologies, and green transportation practices.

Outreach and education is a key component of our work. ECC regularly holds events including alternative fuel vehicle show-cases, ride & drives, and trainings for citizens and stakeholders to learn about sustainable transportation. We work closely with public and private stakeholders, providing project assistance and access to funding opportunities for vehicle replacement programs and other clean transportation initiatives. Additionally, ECC helps collect and analyze local data through alternative fuel price reports, vehicle and infrastructure costs, and transportation related greenhouse gas reductions in New York City and the Hudson Valley.
 
Thanks to our stakeholders, we were able to displace 18,865,919 gallons of petroleum and reduce 98,146 tons of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the region in 2018. That is the equivalent to planting over 128,174 acres of forest or taking over 20,838 passenger vehicles off the road! Your contribution helps us grow these achievements and directly support programs that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve local air quality.
